Review: NightShade by Andrea Cremer

Hardcover, 464 pages

While other teenage girls daydream about boys, Calla Tor imagines ripping out her enemies’ throats. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. Calla was born a warrior and on her eighteenth-birthday she’ll become the alpha female of the next generation of Guardian wolves. But Calla’s predestined path veers off course the moment she saves the life of a wayward hiker, a boy her own age. This human boy’s secret will turn the young pack's world upside down and forever alter the outcome of the centuries-old Witches' War that surrounds them all.

Imagine growing up always following the rules and thinking that you know everything about your life and your family, only for it to all fall apart one day, and all because you met a boy.

That is exactly what happens to Calla. All her life she has known how her life was going to turn out and knew what to expect. She knew the rules of her kind and what was expected from her. Calla also understood that she does not get to pick who she loves or gets to marry and she is okay with this. That is until she meets Shay.

Calla tries to push him away and out of her life, but that just isn't possible. She slowly begins to break some rules and do things she should not be doing. She tries to explain to Shay that they can not be and that if anyone found out about what she has done, she will be killed.

Her life has turned upside down in less than a month and she is slowly beginning to lose control of things. She learns that she has been lied to and that her whole life, everything she has been taught, might be a lie.

Before I give away any spoilers (which I might have already) I will just stop here.

NightShade is one of THE BEST stories coming out this year! You will not be disappointed! It has raw action and has one of the most powerful forbidden love stories ever. Let's not forget two amazing guys that you will just fall absolutely in love with! I finished NightShade in less than 24 hours because I could not stop reading. I kept saying to myself one more chapter then bed, but I just couldn't put it down. I want to just keep adding to this review about how much I love this book! This has been the year of amazing books and this is one you will add to your list and still think about for days! A MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST READ! 5 Stars!
