In Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.

At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love - the light and the dark, the warm and the cold - in a way you will never forget.

I finished Linger a few days ago and let me tell you I was left salivating for more. In this ongoing story of Grace and Sam we are introduced to a few new wolves. Cole St. Clair and Victor. Beck made them in the hopes that they would help keep the shifting wolves protected. Since we learn at the end of Shiver (book 1) that Sam was "cured" this book takes off with Sam and Grace living in their happy little bubble. But since this is a sequel and the main focus is still on Sam and Grace we learn that all that glitters is not gold. Again, Maggie masterfully takes us on a heart wrenching journey of ill-fated love. Also remember how I said there were new wolves well we get an up close and personnel peek into Cole's life and we learn he is not your typical wolf. He has a life he feels he needs to escape from and when Beck makes him an offer he can't refuse he jumps on it dragging his best friend Victor with him. We also get a much better look into Isabel's life and how the death of her brother effected her. This book was such an awesome second installment in this series. We are front and center for Sam and Grace's torment at being kept apart. We see Isabel's softer side (I know hard to believe she might have one....lol). Seriously, Isabel is totally redeemed in this book and becomes a great asset to Grace and even Cole. I don't want to say too much because I really don't want to give away too much of what is going on in this second book but let me tell you, you will be longing for the next book in this series because if you are like me you really want to see Sam and Grace have their happily ever after. If you were a fan of Shiver than you really NEED to READ this book. Teenage angst does not even begin to describe this book. On a scale of 1-10 I give this book a 10. Maggie has a winning series here and I eagerly await book 3 in this phenomenal series.
