Once there, Phe quickly realizes that something is deeply amiss in her new town. Not only does Shadow Hills' history boast an unexplained epidemic that decimated hundreds of its citizens in the 1700s, but its modern townies also seem eerily psychic, with the bizarre ability to bend metal. Even Zach -- the gorgeous stranger Phe meets and immediately begins to lust after -- seems as if he is hiding something serious. Phe is determined to get to the bottom of it. The longer she stays there, the more she suspects that her sister's untimely death and her own destiny are intricately linked to those who reside in Shadow Hills.
OMG, I was hooked from the first page. For a debut novel Anastasia writes herself a wonderful story. I love the character of Persephone "Phe" Archer (Phe is pronounced like Fee). She is one of those character's that you wish you had as a friend. Her love interest Zach is a guy you would want to date yourself. They have this instant chemistry that is just undeniable. The supporting character's of Graham, Adriana, Toy, and Brody are the perfect contrast to Zach and Phe. They compliment as well as make you want to know their behind the scenes stories. the characters Trent and Corinne are what you would consider to be the mean boy/girl. They really are characters you love to hate and give a b*tch to. I fell so hard for Zach and Phe's plight that I felt I had a vested interest in what happened to them. This was a great roller coaster ride of intrigue and who done it. I loved the whole us vs them aspect as well. It was basically Zach and Phe against the town of Shadow Hills or more accurately the council of Shadow Hill. If you love a good what is up with the town story as well as a who did it mystery than Shadow Hills is the book for you. It has a little Greek God and Goddess' history intertwined with good strong story telling. I really could not put this book down. I am praying there is going to be another book to make this a series. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 20. Yes, I know it is off the scale but it is that good. Anastasia is the second debut novelist that I have fallen in love with. Her and Alice Clayton have such an amazing talent when it comes to story telling that I can't wait to read more from them. Anastasia is simply a fantastic author that everyone should be looking out for in the future. EVERYONE NEEDS TO PICK UP A COPY OF SHADOW HILLS. YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY.

The books up for grabs:
Clockwork Angel, by Cassandra Clare
Alice Clayton is a new novelist with an unholy love for her Kitchenaid mixer. Making her home in St Louis, she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up afterwards, and is trying desperately to get her long time boyfriend to make her an honest woman. Hi sweetie!!
The Unidentified Redhead is Alice's first novel, and first ever attempt at writing anything other than a grocery list. Imagine her surprise when she found out it was going to be published. Alice says "I wanted to write something that I would get a kick out of reading. I don't normally enjoy romance novels, but I am a sucker for a interesting story with a little...ahem...heat? But I also crave the funny. Why not combine the two? Why not funny smut? Why not comedic erotica?"
Why not indeed.
Alice would like you to know that she is no longer comfortable talking about herself in third person (Hi everyone!!*waves*) and thinks that you should simply trust her and give The Unidentified Redhead a try. She thinks you, and your significant other, will be pleased.
Alice would also like all her readers to help her convince her long time boyfriend that the only other thing that would make her truly happy is finally bringing home a Bernese Mountain Dog.
I pulled my orange scarf a little more snugly around my neck and knotted it again so it tucked right under my chin. The air was cool this morning, and the leaves fell gently around me, blown about by a blustery breeze. Fortunately, I was sheltered from most of the wind, and I took the opportunity to gaze once again at the scene before me:
Brownstones. Concrete. Yellow cabs. A deli advertising both pastrami and falafel.
I sipped my coffee regular and marveled at my life, where it had taken me. I loved New York.
The last few weeks had been amazing—and difficult. It was now October, and fall had officially come to Manhattan. The air was crisp, there were pumpkins on stoops, and I was having the time of my life. Literally. I was insanely happy.
Except, I was really missing my Brit.
Let’s go back a bit

I had the pleasure of reading Alice's book The Unidentified Redhead a little ways back and let me tell you I was so hooked on the Story of Grace and Jack. So hooked in fact that I wrote a review and posted it everywhere I could think of. Then I tweeted and left a message for her on GoodReads telling her how amazing I thought her debut novel was. Then I did something I didn't think I would have the guts to do. I asked her if she would do an interview on my blog. Now I know most of you haven't heard of my blog, but I am trying to get it going so I wasn't sure if an Author let alone Alice would want to do an interview on such a newish blog. Boy was I ever shocked and tickled pink that she said she would love too. For me, this was huge my very first interview with an awesome new writer I was dumbstruck. I would say now here comes the hard part thinking up questions, but I just so happened to think up the questions first. You ever heard of the Boy Scout Moto (I hope it's their moto....lol) "Be Prepared" well I figured on the off chance that she actually said yes I wanted to show her I was no slacker by already having questions ready for her. Alice being the awesome person that she is offered to have a giveaway of an ebook to go with her interview. I was blown away by how truly generous she is. If you are looking for an awesome book to read might I suggest The Unidentified Redhead. Also if you want to get to know a truly gifted new write stop by my blog July 25th - August 7th for my interview with Miss Alice herself. I hope to see you there. Photo is from AliceClayton.Com

Arson Gable feels like a freak. He can create fire. He never asked for it. He never wanted it. But he can’t shut it off.
Before now, three things were true: he both loved and despised his grandmother; more normal behind a mask than inside her own skin—moves in next door, Arson hopes to find something he’s never had: purpose. Using what he fears most about himself, Arson must face his consuming past and confront the nightmare that is his present as he walks the fine line between boy and monster. Dark, moody, and breathtakingly relevant, Arson, the chilling chronicle of an isolated boy with unimaginable ability, is sure to ignite the hearts and minds of a new generation.
This book sounds like a great story and one that is already on my to be read pile. I think everyone should pick up a copy of Arson and discover what wonders are hidden in this book that has every singing it's praises. I am blogging about Arson to support a fellow Vega....^_^. Even if we didn't have the same last name I would still support this book because I believe it will be a book you will want to read again and again.
