Review Of Gabriel's Rapture (Gabriel's Inferno Series Book #2) By Sylvain Reynard

I be beyond thrilled to be taking part in Sylvain's book tour to promote Gabriel's Rapture book 2 in the continuing saga of Gabriel and Julianne (Gabriel's Inferno Book 1). I am so excited to be on this phenomenal book tour. I just want to thank Sylvain and KLB for inviting me back for book 2. Opening up the last tour for Gabriel's Inferno was an honor and now that I am one blog stop away from ending this blog tour for Gabriel's Rapture it is bittersweet. It's bitter because the tour is just about over and it is sweet because I got to spend more time with the AMAZING characters that Sylvain has created. I hope you LOVE Gabriel's Rapture as much as I do. There are some tastefully done sex scenes in this book so I should say this book is more for 18+ (possibly a mature 17 year old). Being a mom, I had to throw that out there....^_^.

Professor Gabriel Emerson has embarked on a passionate, yet clandestine affair with his former student, Julia Mitchell. Sequestered on a romantic holiday in Italy, he tutors her in the sensual delights of the body and the raptures of sex. But when they return, their happiness is threatened by conspiring students, academic politics, and a jealous ex-lover. When Gabriel is confronted by the university administration, will he succumb to Dante’s fate? Or will he fight to keep Julia, his Beatrice, forever?

In Gabriel's Rapture, the brilliant sequel to the wildly successful debut novel, Gabriel's Inferno, Sylvain Reynard weaves an exquisite love story that will touch the reader's mind, body, and soul, forever.

When I read Gabriel's Inferno I thought wow, how is Sylvain going to write a sequel equally compelling, if not, better than the first book. I should have know better. Sylvain is a genius and Gabriel's Rapture is just so SENSATIONAL. From page 146 til the end I literally got no sleep whatsoever. I finished it at 6:30am and had to be up by 7:00am to get my kids ready for school. I was wonky all day but it was so worth it. Gabriel and Julianne's story had me so hooked I couldn't pull myself away.

Gabriel's Rapture is the continuing saga of Professor Gabriel Emerson and his former student Julianne (Julia) Mitchell. This book starts off where Gabriel's Inferno ended. This story takes us through the "honeymoon" period of their new found relationship and into the reality of a teacher dating a student (former or otherwise). We also get to witness Gabriel experience jealousy for the first time.

I love the range of emotions these two characters took this time around. We see Gabriel and Julia at their highest and we get to experience their lowest point. If I had a paperback copy and not an ebook I think I would have thrown this book a couple of times because I got so sucked into their emotions and I could almost feel their pain at times. We also get to see how their lives get effected by their relationship and how they deal with it individually.

Anything more I could say would so ruin this book for everyone. I can't sing the praises of this book enough. This book was extraordinary and I am so thankful I got to read it. Sylvain's writing style is unparalleled. I would never on my own read about Dante or Beatrice but now I have a new appreciation for them. On a scale from 1-10 Gabriel's Rapture gets a 20. Just like Gabriel's Inferno got a 20 I had to give the same to book 2 because it was just as wonderful, if not, more so than book 1. If you are looking for an intense love, tortured souls, scandalous actions, and just a outstanding Contemporary Romance than Gabriel's Rapture is so the book for you. Everyone 18+ should run and pick up a copy and if you haven't read Gabriel's Inferno (my review Here) you should pick that one up too. Let Gabriel and Julia's journey bring you your own rapture.

The next stop on the tour will be tomorrow on JJ iReads

New York Times bestselling author Sherrilyn Kenyon and rising stars Jaid Black and Kresley Cole unlock the pleasures and perils of embracing the boldest and most powerful of lovers -- 100% alpha males -- in three sensually erotic tales. Discover the physical rapture of his muscular arms.... Become a prisoner of passion, swept away by an encounter with his primal side.... And get lost in the all-consuming thrill of white-hot pursuit by a relentless stranger who may be your most dangerous foe, the best lover you've ever had -- or both. Let your fantasies run wild with these unforgettable novellas where bigger is most definitely better -- and playing easy-to-get is the only way to go!

I have had this book since 2009. I hadn't had the chance to read it because I had so many other books I wanted to read plus I was in the midst of getting my blog off the ground. Recently I have been so consumed with trying to read all the books I had been given by some amazing authors that I haven't had time to stop and smell the roses so to speak. I had just finished reading an e-book for review on my PC, when out of the corner of my eye I spied Playing Easy To Get. I was tired of having to read e-books on my PC (my awesome e-reader is broken so I am stuck reading my e-books on my PC) and I just wanted to be able to hold a book in my hand and leave my room at the same time. That's when I thought I would take a teeny tiny break from my author requested reads and just read for the pure pleasure of it. Don't get me wrong I love the books I am asked to review but sometimes you just need a "for me" book. I am so glad I did because this book was AWESOME. I was able to sample three authors in one book. I have like 2 books from Sherrilyn Kenyon but haven't read them and I have never read anything by Jaid Black or Kresley Cole. This book, in my opinion, was a great introduction to their writing styles. Each novella gives you a glimpse into 3 amazing series, which I have in turn add to my to be read pile. You have Kresley Cole's Immortal's After Dark Series #1, Sherrilyn Kenyon's B.A.D. Series #1.5, and Jaid Black's Vikings Underground Series #3.

Sherrilyn Kenyon has her heroine into a particular romance novel and debating on whether to enter a dream of a lifetime sweepstakes while her hero is on the run from some shady guys hiding out and trying to maintain a low profile.

Jaid Black has her heroine grieving the loss of her brother and bemoaning her lonely life while her hero is an old school Viking who lives underground and follows some very ancient teachings of his people.

Kresley Cole has her heroine as a very scheming Valkyrie who will stop at nothing to punish any man who is deserving while her hero is a 300 or so year old Vampire who was made because he was a warrior but not really accepted because he was not born into the supernatural world.

Each story has something for everyone and the hot hook-ups are a nice added touch. The work with the story and are not just added to fill up space. On a scale from 1-10 I give Playing Hard To Get a great BIG 10. If you enjoy a good with characters you can enjoy and possible relate to then Playing Easy To Get is the book for you. Everyone 18+ should pick up a copy and enjoy where the stories take them.

Review Of Shut Up And Kiss Me By Mahalia Levey

Brought up in a traditional family Carrie Stevens fights the bounds of propriety and flaunts her deviance with no regard to personal consequences. With one exception…her big brother’s wishes where his band is concerned. The sparks that fly when she’s around the one taboo she’d love to date are only a tempting siren’s song, until she sees there’s more to Shea than she’d originally thought. The sexy drummer might just make her lose her heart, if he can put her past to rest.

Shea McNamara has been in love with Carrie Stevens for years. Running in the same circle as her isn't easy. Her choice in men irks him but she's in his blood as much as the drums he loves to beat. All he has to do is convince her there’s more to life than the fast lane. With her flirty attitude he refuses to allow her to call the shots.

Nice to know my request has been granted....lol. Not only did I get to reacquaint myself with Garrick and Neveah from Rhapsody but I got to meet Garrick's sister Carrie and his band mate Shea. Shut Up And Kiss Me is a great follow-up to Rhapsody. Not only do I get an update on my favorite characters but I get a new juicy story to boot.

From the beginning you can feel the sexual tension between Carrie and Shea. They hold themselves in check because Carrie has sworn off musicians and he is in her brothers band. Shea, although he has wanted Carrie for a long time now, denies himself because Garrick is her brother and he doesn't want to ruin their friendship. One drunken slip of the tongue by Carrie starts these two characters down a path that forever changes them.

I have loved every book of Mahalia's I have read but this one really just struck a cord in me. There was just something about these two characters that had me rooting for them from the very beginning. As always, Mahalia writes a HOT story but that was just the cherry topping to an already extremely satisfying story of two people who truly belong together. I look forward to Kiss Me Like You Mean It, the next installment in this wonderful series. On a scale from 1-10 I give Shut Up And Kiss Me A HUGE 10 and encourage everyone 18+ to read it. This is a great story with characters worth rooting for. If forbidden romance intrigues you or you just love a great story then this one is definitely for you.

Interview And e-Book Giveaway With Author Bianca D'Arc

Today on my blog I have the pleasure of interviewing author Bianca D'Arc. Not only is she a brilliant author but she is also very giving. Not only do I get to pick her brain about being a writer but she is giving away an e-book copy of King Of Swords (Arcana Series Book #1). To enter just leave a meaningful comment with your e-mail address and your entered. Giveaway ends May 7,2012 at 11:59 PM EST.

1) How did you come up with the idea for your Brotherhood Of Blood Series and could you tell me a little bit about it?

Way back in 2005, a now-defunct publisher was holding a contest for vampire romance short stories. The prize was a publishing contract. I wrote One & Only for the contest. It was released by that first publisher in the Spring of 2006. When that publisher went out of business, the opportunity arose to move all my vampire short stories over to Samhain and the rest, as they say, is history.

So that's the genesis. As for the books themselves - I decided early on to set my vampires apart just a tiny bit by the idea that they can still drink wine. It is their last link to the sun and it has healing properties for them. That's my tiny little twist on a genre that's chock full of different takes on the traditional vampire. My werecreatures come in all types - though mostly they are predators. I write werewolves, big cat shifters, even a werebear on occasion, and depending on the type of creature they turn into, each has a slightly different social structure.

The actual Brotherhood of Blood stories are all linked by the fact that the heroines were all once members of the same college study group. They've stayed friends all this time and one by one, they pair off with vampires - except for the last one, Sally, who gets her very own Alpha werewolf in my newest book, Wolf Hills.

2) Are any of the characters from your Brotherhood Of Blood Series based on real people or are they all completely from your imagination?

I don't write real people. Occasionally, as a nod to a friend, I might use their first name or something, but the characters always come directly from my little mind.

3) Music, for me, is a big part of my life, So I was wondering what type of music do you listen to and is music a must when you are writing?

Believe it or not, at one time I contemplated a career as a professional musician. When I gave up that dream, a lot of the music went out of my life, but to this day, I can't just listen to music. If I listen, I listen with my whole being and immerse myself in the experience. So writing with music is not a good combo for me unless it's something I can mostly tune out like New Age space music or something.

4) There are some author's who write books together like P.C. Cast And Kristin Cast of The House Of Night Series, so my question to you is, if you could, Who would you like to write a book with?

I've never co-written, but it's something I've contemplated. I'm not quite sure how it would work, but a few of my author friends and I have tossed around the idea. We just haven't acted on it. I'm not going to name names just yet, because it's still very nebulous and I don't want to jinx it! ;-)

5) Did you always want to be a writer or did you see yourself taking a different career path?

I've written for my own enjoyment from about the age of 15 or so, but I didn't really consider it as a career until after 9/11. I'm a native NY'er and I worked on Wall Street until about 2 weeks before the towers came down in 2001. That single event had a very marked effect on my life and my career path. Eventually, I came to realize I should do the things I love to do - like writing. I started pursuing publication seriously in November of 2005 and my first book came out on Valentine's Day of 2006.

6) Are there any writers/authors who have inspired you and what author's do you like to read?

I'd say my biggest inspiration to try the small press route to publishing was Lora Leigh. I saw what she was doing in 2005, when I first discovered ebooks, and I thought maybe I could break into the business, writing the kinds of stories I loved, but that weren't exactly commercially viable for the old-school traditional publishers. I can't argue with the results and I'm still thankful to Lora Leigh to this day, for leading the way for so many of us.

As for what I read - it's an ecclectic mix. My comfort reads are still the oldies-but-goodies: Linda Howard, Rachel Lee, Diana Palmer, Suzanne Brockmann, Merline Lovelace, and a few others. I grab anything Viola Grace puts out because I LOVE space opera!!! As far as non-romance, I re-read all of Elizabeth Moon's space opera at least once a year. And every few years, I go back and re-read all of Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar series. I loved it when I was a kid and I still love it now. :)

7) If you could check off one or two things from your bucket list what would they be and why?

I'd love to fly in a private jet. Why? Because I think they're cool and I'd feel super rich! LOL! I missed out on flying on the Concorde, but a nice, luxurious, private jet isn't a bad replacement. ;-)

8) What do you hope people can take away from reading one of your novels?

An adventurous escape into a fantastical world where love conquers all and the good guys always win.

9) Is there any genre you would like to try your hand at writing but just haven't had the chance to write?

I want to try my hand at straight contemporary - meaning no paranormal elements - but somehow a creature or two always butts in. ;-)

10) What is coming up next for you book wise (i.e. next book, book signings, blog tour, etc)?

I'm spending the rest of the year focused on writing. I really need to get more new material out there. I just finished a new Dragon Knights book that we'll be editing in the coming months. I also wrote a short story for the upcoming Mammoth Book of Futuristic Romance. I'll be putting out another installment in my Arcana series in June or July, called King of Clubs, and then probably the final story in the Kings later this year, called King of Stars. I expect to attend a convention or two in the Fall, but mostly I'm going to be writing, writing, writing!

Thanks for having me. These questions were a blast! :)
