I was thrilled when I was offered a graduate teaching position at the prestigious Tennerson Girls Academy. At twenty-three, this would be my first ‘real’ teaching assignment. Working at the elite boarding school, home to the daughters of some of the wealthiest people in the world, was a great opportunity that I would’ve been stupid to pass up.

One week into my new job, and I suddenly had no idea why I chose high school…I was a seventeen year old boy once, I knew how teenage girls behaved.

You can’t even imagine the hell of trying to teach thirty, hormonal driven seventeen year olds who have been cooped up, away from any male contact.

I could handle the whispers every time I entered the room. I could even handle the obvious attempts at gaining my attention. What I couldn’t handle was her…

Rich bitches and way too many rules. Was it any wonder that I hated school?

Add to that the lack of male contact, and I was going insane. Like literally. I wasn’t used to this. A year ago I was normal. I had a boyfriend, friends and a loving family. There is nothing normal about me anymore, and nobody here lets me forget that.

My name is Wrenn, and I’m only here because my aunt took me in after what happened, but my aunt also happens to be the headmistress of this academy…Can you see my problem?

I’m hated for my lack of money, and I’m hated for who my Aunt is.

Then he arrived. Dalton Reed. My new history teacher.

Slowly, he helped me see that even in the worst situations, there is always hope.

Missy Johnson is a new to me author but after reading Always You I will be reading a lot more of her books. I know student/teacher relations is a very taboo subject but I liked the fact that Missy wasn't afraid to tackle this subject. I don't agree with Teachers and Students dating per se but when there is only a few years age difference between them, that is when it becomes a gray area for me (when the student is 18 at least).

Dalton Reed is a twenty three year old fresh out of college. His dream job is to teach young minds and that is what he intends to do at Tennerson Girls Academy. Never in his wildest dreams did Dalton ever imagine what was about to happen to him.

Wrenn has had a tough break and has had to go live with her aunt Layna. As if that wasn't bad enough Wrenn also has to go to Tennerson Girls Academy because her aunt is headmistress. If it wasn't for Kassia, Wrenn's stay at the Academy might be more tortuous then it already was. What Wrenn didn't realize is that her world was about to change once it collided with her new History teacher Mr. Dalton Reed.

I would say more but I don't want to give too much of this story away and ruin it for someone else. I will say this Always You brought tears to my eyes so you may want to have tissues handy when you read this book. This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what could happen next. On a scale from 1-10 I give Always You a 10. It was an AWESOME read and I could not put it down once I started reading it. If you are looking for a story with forbidden love, intrigue, mean girls, or a good tearjerker than Always You is the book for you. I encourage EVERYONE adult 18+ to go pick up a copy of Always You and challenge you not to root for Wrenn and Dalton.

Review Of Hunted (The Guardian Legacy Series Book #3) By Ednah Walters

Hunted (The Guardian Legacy, #3)
Hunted (The Guardian Legacy Series Book #3) By Ednah Walters

Series: Guardian Legacy (Book 3)
Paperback: 320 pages
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press; 1 edition (April 2, 2013)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1937053245

Bran and Lil may have escaped an attempt to lure Lil to the dark side, and recovered the contracts damned people signed with Bran when he was a soul collector, but someone forgot to tell them that no one switches sides or cancels contracts without consequences.

Hunted by an unknown but powerful enemy, Lil, Bran and the Guardians must seek help from unlikely sources to avert total annihilation of the Guardians. When they finally face their enemy, one of them may have to make the ultimate sacrifice.

When reading Hunted I should have had some tissues handy. I won't say where in the book you need them but trust me YOU. WILL. NEED. THEM. Hunted is a brilliant addition to The Guardian Legacy Series. This book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what could happen next. Just when you think Lil and Bran can rest easy you are thrown for a loop.

Lil and Bran finally get to take a trip with the other Guardians and soak up some sun when the unthinkable happens; the Guardians are attacked in a place where they should have felt safe. Now the Guardians are being viciously hunted by an unknown threat that has everyone on high alert.

For every step Bran, Lil, and the gang take an unforeseen event/entity sets them two steps back . They try desperately to gather allies to help them fight this unknown threat only to cause a chain of events that leads to possibly one Guardian doing the unthinkable.

There is still so, so much I want to tell you about Hunted but I can't for fear I will ruin this book for someone. This book really was a roller coaster ride of ups and downs that will have you biting your nails wondering what will happen next and when it does, how bad will all the Guardians be affected by it. Waiting for the next book is going to be pure agony....lol. On a scale from 1-10 I give Hunted a 20. Yes, it is off the scale but this book really packs a punch and leaves a lasting impression. Everyone who has read Awakened (Book #1) and Betrayed (Book #2) NEEDS to pick up a copy of Hunted. If you have never read any of Ednah's Guardian Legacy Series than you really NEED to pick up all three books in this continuing series. Hunted has something for everyone. If you are a fan of Angels and Demons, young love, epic battles, supernatural powers, weapons, and sibling rivalry then this book is for you. Read the continuing saga of Lil, Bran, and the rest of the Guardians and then decide for yourself which side do you belong on the side of good or evil.

Review Of Grimnirs (Runes Series Book #2.5) By Ednah Walters

Book Title:  Grimnirs
Series:  A Runes Novel
Author:  Ednah Walters
Release Date:  December 2nd 2013
Genre:  YA Paranormal Romance
Publisher:  Firetrail Publishing
Presented by:  As You Wish Tours
Banner Made by:  Julia Hendrix

One lost love.

One lost best friend.

One hot soul reaper.

Straight out of the psyche ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The love of her life, the guy she’s loved from a distance for years, has moved away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing. The connection defies logic. It doesn’t help that Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. A general pain-in-the-butt. Being around him makes her feel more alive than she’s ever felt before. But more important, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Echo is perfect for her. Echo might even be her soul-mate. There is only one problem. Echo is a freaking soul reaper. A Grimnir. The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life. You see, once you fall for a Grimnir, your life will never be the same again.

“You, doll-face. Why are you having a shitty day?”

I glared ahead. “Because you are screwing with my head. How come you keep saying things I don’t remember?”

“I told you. The Norns put a whammy on you.”

“Deities of destiny. Mean, bitter hags. They control the destiny of all beings—Mortals, Immortals, even the gods. Interestingly, I just found out why they targeted you and erased your memories.”

“Why?” Not that I believed his rambling.

“Say please.”

I was tempted to ignore him, but something weird had happened to me and I wanted answers. I eased the car into a parking spot across from my school, switched off the engine, and turned to look at Echo. He was dressed in all leather again today. I realized that what I’d assumed was a leather shirt was actually a vest of some kind. Once again, he wore fingerless gloves and silver Gothic rings with weird markings.

“Please,” I said through clenched teeth.

He touched his lips. “I want a kiss, too.”

I narrowed my eyes. “Why are you such a tool all the time? You think this is fun for me? Not remembering things? Waking up one morning and seeing souls? Ending up in a psych ward, where they pumped me full of drugs, then coming home only to be met by you, a reaper?”

“Grimnir,” he corrected then frowned. “Are those the fake memories the Norns gave you? Psych ward? That’s just wrong.”

“I was in a psych ward,” I snapped.

He raised his hands. “Okay. No need to be snippy.”

“I’m not—”

He covered my mouth then smirked when I bit his hand. I bore down until I tasted blood. He didn’t even wince. His grin broadened instead.

“Drink my blood, doll-face. Bond with me for eternity.”

The thought was scary. I pushed his hand away and wiped my mouth. “Ew. Can your blood do that?”

He laughed.

“Will you be serious for even a second?” I asked.

“Don’t you want to be mine forever?”

“Ew, no.” I made a face. “I don’t even like you.”

My Review:

Ednah Walters writing ALWAYS surprises me. Everyone of her stories never fails to garner a fierce response from me. When I first stated reading this series I immediately fell in LOVE with Torin St. James and thought no one could even come close to it. Well, Ednah blew that out of the water when she created Echo. He is beyond HOT, funny, did I mention HOT, with an undercurrent of badness to him.

Cora Jemison is no longer just Raine's best friends; oh no, she can see souls everywhere she goes. On a trip to the grocery store Cora encounters Echo, a mysterious guy who seems to be shepherding the very souls she wants to escape from. While she can't take her eyes off him he stuns her by talking to her like he knows her. All the while she is thinking it is impossible because she would remember him if she did.

Echo is a Grimnir, a reaper of souls. He guides souls to Hels Hall and he is great at his job. Echo is also not to be trusted because he will do any and everything to reach his end goal no matter who he has to destroy on the process. All that starts to change when the Cora he once thought he knew starts saying and acting differently then he is used to. He sees a softer side to her that makes him want to act that way as well.

Once Echo realizes Cora is a Mortal he tries to do the right thing and let her go but Cora has other plans for her Grimnir.

There is so much I want to say but I really don't want to give away any more of the story and ruin it for anyone. I so came close to tears reading this book. I had OMG moments and I there were a few times when I wished I had  this book in paperback so I could throw it or bang it in frustration. I LOVED the fact that this book made me a jumble of emotions. To me, that is what a brilliant writer does, they take you on an emotional roller coaster but never let you catch your breath. I CAN'T WAIT TIL BOOK #3. On a scale from 1-10 I give Grimnirs a 20. Every book Ednah writes topples my scale because anything less seems like he won't do he stories justice. If your a fan of her Runes Series than this is a MUST HAVE addition. If you are looking for a great story, HOT guys/girls, Norse Mythology, or just looking for amazing characters than Grimnirs is the book for you. I encourage everyone who loves this series to pick up a copy. If you haven't read this series then when you buy Grimnirs you should also buy Runes and Immortals. Let Cora and Echo show you something worth fighting for.
